Korean bellflower root, jujube, pear and rice syrup — the four ingredients

Key ingredients

As with the bellflower candy and tea, a 60%+-solids steeped concentrate makes up half the product. Only three things are added: jujube, pear and rice syrup.

  • Steeped bellflower-root concentrate (60%+ solids)Korea
  • Jujube concentrateKorea
  • Pear concentrateKorea
  • Rice syrup (jocheong)Korea

The blend, and how it is used

No processing is used to mask the bellflower's distinctive taste. Only jujube, pear and rice syrup are added, leaving its strong flavour and aroma intact.

Herbal pharmacists trained at Kyung Hee University took part in the formulation; it is made in a HACCP certified facility (Daedong Koryo Ginseng).

This product is a food for everyday consumption, not a medicine.

Steeped bellflower preserve on a spoon over the jar, with bellflower roots beside it
Four ways to enjoy it: warm tea, salad dressing, with traditional sweets, or as an iced ade

When to reach for it

  • Midway through a day of talking for work
  • When you enjoy the strong, distinctive taste of bellflower
  • When you want an unusual sauce for a salad or dish
  • Choosing a thoughtful gift

How to enjoy it

As a guide: one teaspoon, 2–3 times a day for adults, about half a teaspoon for children. Take it as-is or diluted in 80 ml of water.

Dissolved in hot water it drinks like bellflower tea; in cold water, like a refreshing ade. It also pairs well with salad dressing or traditional sweets.

One 120 g jar makes about 60 servings. Store at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight; refrigerate after opening.
